You can also find some other places, where you can obtain raw material for your cards. For example you can find spare cards at your local card shop after a major holiday - like Christmas / Valentine's Day / Mother's Day, etc. You will find that most of the shopkeepers throw away these cards into the dustbin or give out them free of charge. You can easily avail this opportunity and these outdated cards can be employed for making crafts. Example envelopes can be used as cover letter. You can also find some other materials from stores: -
- Craft knives: they usually throw away the knives, which have a break off section of the blade or when it gets dull.
- Double-sided carpet tape
- Buttons, ribbons, feathers they can be employed for embellishments.
- Acrylic paints, modge.
- Pin backs.
- Contact cement.
In this section an outline for making card (shown below) at your home is developed in a step-by-step manner.

1. The first step is to cut a triangular shape out of a paper.

2. Use an embossing tool and place the triangular paper over the stencil paper for embossing on your card paper as shown below.

3. Fill the parts with colors.

4. Add strips to the borders.

5. Paste on the card with a good quality adhesive and then select another shape (spiral here) for putting up on the card.

6. Then use some colored threads for tying around the shape selected by you.

7. After completing the thread tying process fix it with some adhesive material on the card paper you have cut from card stock.

In this way you can make a beautiful card as shown in the figure one. This sounds very simple and the card so produced is good enough to give as a gift!
