For decorating cards you can use double-sided tape, which gives a very fun look to a card and is a very inexpensive source indeed. You can use it for decorating cards, or anything, with glitter.
Meat trays can be utilized for laying on card, etc.
Small pieces or streamers of colored paper that are thrown around on festive occasions can be used for card making.
You can effectively use dried flowers/ petals for decorating.
Good paste can be employed and hair spray can also make a good fixative for pastel drawings and chalked pictures but remember it isn't acid free.
Mulberry paper can be used for card making and instead of cutting the mulberry paper wet the edges, using either a paintbrush or a water pen, and then just tear it. The result is quite effective.
Beads can be used around the corners of a card.
Paper and pictures cut into pieces and layered on a card front with other colors of cardstock.
Buttons as shown in the figure are also employed which can be taken out from old shirts etc, or are available in the market at very low cost.
To give the card natural tiny rocks metallic paints can be used and costs next to nothing.
If you are preparing a card for wishing better holidays or intend to make a card with the look of Sea/Beach then tiny seashells can be pasted on it.
Plastic dragonflies, butterflies, flowers, etc can be used effectively for card making. Also you can use left over pieces of shrink plastic -color with nice colors before shrinking.
For decorating the back part of your card you can glue embellishments or shrink plastic pieces. This is a very inexpensive source of decorating cards instead of using confetti or glitters at the card back.
You can also embellish the cards with various decorations such as raffia or ribbons. For larger cards, use wire attached at two places to better support the card.
