Card Making Materials - Saving Tips

Home » Home and Family » Arts and Crafts - Money Saving Ideas and Tips

Everyone starts making their own cards for a hobby or in order to save money, but a lot of people spend more money on materials for making the card then actually buying a card from a store. To avoid this situation you can effectively employ the following material; some of them cost a few bucks or nothing.

  1. Old wallpaper books, which are no longer in use, can be collected or found at paint and home decorating stores and they cost only a few bucks or nothing.

  2. Off-cuts and sample papers from your local printer.

  3. Bits of attractive paper culled from junk mail.

  4. Pictures from old magazines, calendars and greeting cards.

  5. Photographs can also be used for making cards.

  6. Little bits of ribbon, fabric, cotton balls, brass fasteners, etc.

  7. If you purchase some material in bulk then it will cost you less. You can have a bulk package of good quality paper, poster board that you can cut up to make a number of cards. The card stock (poster board) and the paper you have bought in bulk have many uses.
