You should save your old light boxes for embellishing your pages with corrugated cardboard of old light bulb boxes. Even though this cardboard usually comes in just white or brown, it's easy to dress it up by using stamps or paints.
Surplus embossing powder sprayed on
your craft piece can be removed with the help of coffee filter paper. You can tip it back in the bottle as the powder doesn't stick to the filter paper.
Gift tags: dried gum leaf tags can be put to great use with cards. Dry some gum leaves (usually longer leaves are used) beneath a book. Write your greeting in gold, silver or red pen, punch a hole in the leaves, and thread some gold elastic through the hole and around the gift.
To sew embellishments on a paper, it is much easier to puncture holes in the paper first and then do the sewing. You can use a larger needle, or a safety pin to puncture the holes with ease. You can avoid finger pokes by placing a mouse pad under the paper.
