Wrapping papers and printed papers can be used instead of expensive tole papers; to make the paper thick for mounting a person can glue them onto white copy paper.
Daub a shaving brush into dye ink and then smudge this onto gloss paper in any way you wish to
create backing paper. You can also use tissue paper and other household items at no extra expense.
Contact paper, lace and glitter can be used to get a really nice background effect. Follow the below given method for making a fancy background effect on your cards:-
- Firstly Peel off the protective paper on one side of the contact paper
- Stick on some lace
- Pour on one color of glitter and remove excess glitter if poured.
- Take the lace off the contact paper and pour a different colored glitter on the contact paper.
A sheet of stationary can be used for making certain parts of your paper craft layout after cutting. You can also make your own templates by using overhead transparencies.
Several types of background papers can be made with the help of cans of spray paint. To glorify the looks you can place several fern fronds on your page and spray paint lightly on it.
Great pieces for letters (for making headings) can be made from the strips of grass/sky/water and even those really colorful blurred photos.
A picture in three dimensions can be made using various cut-outs taken from 5 or more of the same print. Remember simple projects can require as few as 4 prints while difficult and complex projects may require up to 9 prints.
