We can reuse greeting cards for different purposes. Most greeting cards have nice looking borders; pictures, shapes, beads etc. and these things can be extracted and be utilized for other creative purposes.
Making picture frames from old cards: -
- Take out a card from your collection that has a nice and thick border.
- Cut out the centre leaving the card border intact.
- Put the picture inside the card.
- Now glue the edges of the card.
In this way you can easily make a picture frame and can save money. You can also use this for sending as a greeting. Also the cutting created from the above procedure can be employed for making a juxtaposed image.
These can be used for decorating you room by gluing cards end to end and then affixing them to a nail or pasting a card string to the wall it will give a festive look to your interior and if viewed in dim light, it gives smoothening effect.
Old cards can also be used to make a postcard: -
- Cut the card in half, along the fold line.
- Trim neatly.
- Take a ruler; draw a line down the center from top to bottom.
- Pen down address, message and send it.
You can also turn them into gift tags and it's very simple: -
- Cut out a cute or pretty part from the card
- WRite message on back.
- Punch hole with a hole puncher
- Thread ribbon through the hole and the gift tag is ready.
The messages written over the card also serve us in a wonderful way, they are a great source of: -
- Verses
- Page-toppers
- Die cuts
- Poems.
You can also employ old greeting cards for decorating your Christmas tree: -
- Cut out a part of card.
- Punch a hole at the top
- String a gold or other metallic thread through the hole
- Hang it on the tree
