Craft Shaker Boxes

You just need to have cardstock, scissors, double-sided foam tape, plastic sheet protector and glue for making a shaker box. They are quick and easy to make, and add a whole new dimension to your scrapbook.

To remove the static cling from the plastic protector rub a fabric softener sheet on it until the cling is gone. Make your plastic sheet a little smaller than the rest of the sheets. This way the foam tape will hold part of the top of the box as well as the sheet protector.

You can use rubber stamps, chalk or die cuts for decorating the background piece of paper. You can also use beads, lucky pennies, seeds, punchies, buttons, flowers, buds, candy corn, leaves, dirt, sand, sea shells, keys, grass blades, fish line and postage stamps for this purpose.

To increase the capacity of a shaker box so more filler can be used inside the double layer of foam tape. You can deploy die cuts or vellum as the window for making shaker boxes. You can also use foam dots instead of the tape.
